  New champions were crowned in a number of counties with Kiladangan winning the Tipperary Hurling title for the first time ever and Kilmoyley dethroning the champions Causeway in the Kerry Hurling final. In football Tyrone Dungannon bridged a 64 year gap when they defeated the holder Trillick in a thrilling final that went to penalties. St. Brigid’s beat holders Padraig Pearses in the Roscommon final and there will be new champions in Cavan after Crosserlough beat Castlerahan.
