Louth v Wicklow, Parnell Park, Sunday, 3pm
Louth and Wicklow will meet in the first round of the Leinster Championship in Parnell Park, Dublin on Sunday afternoon. Louth have been in impressive form to date and they showed this as they gained promotion from Division 3 of the Allianz League beating teams like Laois, Tipperary and Antrim on their way to promotion.
The side managed by Colin Kelly will want to hit the ground running in this game and a massive performance here is expected of them. Wicklow, operated out of Division 4 in Allianz League and were very disappointing, they finished joint second last in the division and conceded 8-101 in 7 games, only winning one. Louth will look to players such as Derek Maguire, Ryan Burns and Eoin O’Connor, while Wicklow will look to Ciaran Hyland, Rory Finn and John McGrath.
Louth are firm favourites to progress to a quarter final with Meath on June 4th and are 1/5 on to win, the Garden County are 9/2 outsiders to cause an upset. For me going on form it has to be an easy win for Louth.
Verdict: Louth by 6
