Antrim v Down, Saturday, 3pm, Cushendall
Antrim and Down meet on Saturday in Cushendall in an all Ulster clash. Antrim incidentally booked their place in the semi-final with a win over the same opposition at the end of April.
They hammered their Ulster rivals that day 3-15 to 0-11. The goals that day for Antrim all came from Ciaran Clarke, Ciaran Johnston and Conor Johnston. Antrim were missing their best player of the last few years as well, Neill McManus, so a return from him on Saturday will only boost Antrim further.
Down however got another bite at the cherry, when they were drawn to place London in the quarter finals. The Mourne men were full value for their 2-19 to 0-19 win, with Eoghan Sands and Scott Nicholson coming to the fore.
Antrim are priced as favourites at 1/12 and Down are 7/1. For me it’s probably one of the bankers of the weekend that Antrim win.
Verdict: Antrim by 10
