Waterford v Cork, Saturday, 7pm, Dungarvan
Cork travel to Dungarvan on Saturday knowing that anything but a win will suffice in this Munster Quarter Final meeting. A win here for the Rebels will set up a Munster semi-final with Tipperary so they will want to win this. Cork have some great players but in recent they haven’t been playing up to the required standard.
They will look to players such Colm O’Neill, Paul Kerrigan and Barry O’Driscoll for leadership this year once again. Waterford had a very poor Division 4 football league campaign, only winning two games to London and Wicklow, so a massive improvement will be needed if they are to get anything from this tie. They will look to players such as Tommy Prendergast, Gavin Crotty and Michael O’Halloran.
Waterford are massive underdogs heading into this game at 11/1, with the Rebels unbackable at a massive 1/33. Very hard to see anything but a Cork win.
Verdict: Cork by 12
