On this week’s Sportsgirls Podcast pundits Nadine Doherty and Diane O’Hora praised Fermanagh after they claimed the Lidl Ladies Division 4 title with a one point win over Ulster rivals Antrim.

It was sharpshooter Eimear Smyth who pointed over a free at the end that won the title for Fermanagh and saw them promoted to Division 4. Nadine believes this win augurs well for Fermanagh going into this year’s Junior Championship.

She said: “Fair play to Fermanagh. Fair play to the free taker (Eimear Smyth) who kept her cool and slotted it over. They’ll be delighted with that; a mixed bag for Fermanagh so far this year and even last year. That’ll give them a great lift going into the championship.”

Diane was impressed with how well the Erne County were coached. She believes their determination helped them on Saturday last: “Fermanagh are re-grouping the last couple of years. I suppose there is a few things they haven’t lost; their determination. They have some really sharp forwards. They are always looking for the ball off the shoulder. They look to be coached very well.”
