Cork stunned last year’s beaten All-Ireland finalists Kerry by defeating them in the Munster semi-finals while Mayo advanced to the Connacht final with victory over Roscommon. It was too easy for Leinster and All-Ireland champions Dublin as they booked their place in the last four of the Leinster championship. In hurling Clare and Cork advanced in the All-Ireland series, Longford and Monaghan were relegated from the Lory Meagher while Louth are through to the Lory Meagher final after victory over Cavan.
