GPA to present contract hours policy to GAA Sports Science Group

The GPA will present its contract hours policy initiative to the sports science group of the GAA today.
The players group wants the contract hours template, which is from sports science data, to regulate training sessions and establish the optimum number of sessions allowed for all inter-county players for various times during the season.
They want the document to be signed off by all parties and for the GAA to monitor and ensure county boards and managers keep to the guidelines.
This document is instead of the maximum of four sessions per week at 65 cents a mile that Croke Park has proposed and what the county boards have backed.
Colm Begley, the Players Engagement Manager, will present the document to the GAA’s
Gaelic Games Sports Science Working Group later this afternoon.
The GPA will still push for everyone to agree to this contract hours policy.
