Kilkenny’s corner/wing-back Michelle Teehan who is in her fourth year at playing inter-county has established herself as a key player in the cat’s defense for the championship.

Teehan told Sports Talk Tom Browne while she delighted to be a starter on the team she is always constantly on her toes as competition for the starting place is very competitive.

“I’m still kept on my toes and not taking anything for granted. You can’t really afford to slip up in training let alone a match, cause you know there somebody on your toes the whole time that can come in and take your position and do just as well you can or even better. So, it’s on the back of your head, I suppose just learning to back yourself is really important to it”.

While the cats had an impressive victory over Limerick which automatically puts them through to an All-Ireland semi-final Teehan noted just how tough Limerick were.

“It was great to get the game, Limerick really put it up to us from the get-go, we had a slow start. We knew going in at half time we had to pick it up as there is so much more in us”.
