Tipperary 2-5 Fermanagh 2-5
Were you one of the just under 700 who watched this one ? A share of the spoils in Semple stadium with Liam Mc Grath the hero as he scored the equaliser with a 40 metre free deep into injury time.
There had been little for the 667 supporters to cheer about in a poor first half as Tipperary led by 1-01 to 0-02 at the break, both teams putting everything into defence with none of the starting attackers on target from play. Tipps goal from Brian Fox was the difference as Fermanagh shot seven wides to Tipperary’s five in that opening half with Sean Quigley kicking four of them.
The second half improved and there was some drama in the closing stages as Brian Fox struck for his second goal for Tipperary only for Fermanagh to regain the lead deep into added time with a penalty from Sean Quigley.
There was still time for a final twist as McGrath kept his nerve to land an equaliser in the dying seconds of the game.
