O’Hora and Brosnan speak highly about Paidi O’Se Tournament

This weekend the annual Paidi O’Se Tournament takes place. This is the 30th anniversary of the now famous competitions that attracts clubs from Ireland and around the world. This year 44 clubs will take part. Sportstalk are delighted to announce that they will have both the Ladies and Mens Finals live on our facebook page.

On this week’s Sportsgirls Podcast both Diane O’Hora and Kerry captain Amanda Brosnan spoke about the competition. Surprisingly neither have taken part in it.

O’Hora said: “No, unfortunately and I’m so sorry I’m actually going to be missing it myself this weekend, I’m working. What a weekend it is! I know people that have come from John Mitchell’s over in Liverpool. Their snapchat stories, their instagram stories and whatever else, it looks like one of those weekends you, your club, your team-mates will remember for the rest of your life; win, lose or draw.”

Brosnan, who plays her club football for Dr Crokes said: “It’s fantastic. It’s great for the county really. It’s actually a competition I’ve never played in either. We never really entered a team. I think it’s really about the craic and the camaraderie. You never going on a night out that’s better than a team night out. It’s just great craic.”

Speaking about your club Brosnan summed up perfectly what a club means: “That’s where you grew up, that’s where you learned your skills. You learn everything you know from your club. You have that love in your heart and your heart is whatever colours your club is. You owe a lot to your club.”
