Slaughtneil’s Eanna Cassidy looks to the heavens as he is chaired off the field at the end of Sunday’s AIB Ulster Club Hurling final win over Antrim champions Loughgiel at Armagh Athletics Ground. Just two days earlier Eanna had buried his father Tommy, the driving force behind hurling in the club.
It was sad he Tommy wasn’t there to see all his great work come to fruition as Slaughtneil became the first Derry club to win an Ulster Club title, but no doubt he was looking down on it all.
