Several clubs ended barren spells at the weekend in their championships. In the football championship Crosserlough won Cavan for the first time in 48 years and in Galway Moycullen claimed the title for the first time ever while in Laois and Wexford the holders were defeated. In the Cork hurling championship Blackrock won the title for the first time in 18 years.
