SPFL Split fixtures to be announced today or tomorrow morning


Supporters of SPFL teams await the announcement of the split fixtures after an action packed Saturday in the Premiership saw the top and bottom six teams confirmed for the final five games of the season.
Leaders Celtic have three home games and two away. The home games are Rangers, Hearts and Motherwell, while they’ll travel to Ross County and Dundee Utd. According to reports the fourth Glasgow Derby in the league will be played in round 34 which means the weekend after next. The sides meet in the Scottish Cup semi-final on Sunday.
There was late drama on Saturday with Ross County scoring an 86th minute penalty to beat Aberdeen while Motherwell earned a late draw at Livingston. Due to Hibs losing 3-1 to Hearts, County’s win saw them earn a place in the top half over the Edinburgh side. Livingston had looked like they’d secure a top half finish but the equaliser from Motherwell allowed them to hold onto their spot.
The SPFL will be required to make tweaks to ensure both teams have an even split due to the relegation battle. Fixtures are likely to be released this afternoon (Monday) or Tuesday morning.
Dates for games are:
Round 34 – Weekend of April 23/24
Round 35 – Weekend of April 30/May 1
Round 36 – Weekend of May 7/8
Round 37 – Midweek of May 10/11
Round 38 – Weekend of May 14/15
