Westmeath Hurlers Tackling Hunger this Christmas

Ask yourself did you ever have to sleep it rough for a night? Winter cold, wet, wind and sheer boll**x of a situation where you locked yourself out of your nice warm house or maybe weren’t let in after staying out for 1 Red Bull and Vodka too many. We all have been in that situation where you have to sleep in a shed or back of car with not much clothing to protect cursing your luck.

Well Ireland has over 3k people sleeping rough each night due to homelessness for whatever reason doesn’t matter, fact is we need to help this Christmas. Westmeath Hurlers are doing their bit with a unique and brilliant idea.

Over 100 Dinners will be served by the Lakemen in Grafton Street to the homeless folk of our nation this Monday morning at 8:30am. Our very own hurling skills challenge leader Derek McNicholas will be pucking out dinners to beat the band after each player has chosen to give up there training meal to help the needy this festive season.
